New Year, New Adventures

So now it is 2009. Who knows what comes next? I start a new job, move to a new house...we move to Ft Meade MD on the 12th. So I am ready I guess. It's funny when new work, job, home, whatever comes along you begin to daydream and think of what this new opportunity will bring. It never seems to live up to it I guess. Not saying it's been disappointing either. Pentagon was decent. It was definately interesting. Not too many people in the Air Force can say they have even met the Secretary of the Air Force, let alone two Secretary of Defenses. It's been a learning experience too. You learn who you can trust to do the job and how to handle those who can't do the job. I love Alexandria, VA- especially Old Town. DC is okay but it's too political, too touristy. It's funny to think the assignment I am about to go on will be my longest yet. Plus the house we will be in should be the longest one we've stayed in for quite awhile.
Since being married in 2001, Dara and I have moved to new households 7 times, about to make our 8th move in our 7 yrs married. Understandably we are sick of it, so we were quite happy to see what we will be moving into.
So now a new start in a new job with new adventures. Here's to 2009.
