Is there anyone out...in here?

Okay I left the blog empty for a long time because I wasn't getting any kind of response from anyone. Well my good friend, Rachel told me she still checks so if for no one else but her, I'll keep posts. So as you all know (or should) Riley John Bender is here. Almost three weeks already...big sister Brianna is just totally in love and helps out as much as she can. Dara is doing well, she's a real estate agents assistant and enjoys it. Brianna goes to Mother's Day Out Pre-School every Tue/Thur. The Air Force is good, living on base is really nice. We've already saved plenty of gas money not to mention not having to pay utilities. Well all for now. Gotta a beautiful Baby Boy to tend to.

It's been a LONG while...

So i haven't been real good at keeping things up to date on here. Where have I been the last month and a half...sinking into a depression about where my life isn't going right now. I'm totally envious of my brother off in LA at the Film School I wanted to go to years ago but couldn't, I'm busy working real hard at base cause a whole bunch of people have left, are leaving, will leave, and I'm picking up the slack; and we're getting ready to move onto base (thank God, it's about time). Plus I've just started an exercise program that yes I bought from an infomercial on TV. I'll let you know if it's worth the time and money. It's not that I can't do it on my own, it's that i don't know what to do and how to do it. This way I pop in the DVD and follow the various 30-40 minute workout programs. And let me tell you by the end of them I am wiped out. But after a cool shower I feel toally refreshed and ready to take on the day. Dara is 31 weeks now, and ready for this boy to come out. She's due August 4th but we figure (hope) it will be mid to end July. Brianna is becoming more and more sassy, much to our chagrin (sp) but she is still one of the most talkative, smartest, creative kids we know.
Well so long for now.

It's been awhile

So i don't know how many of you actually go out and read my blog or know when I've posted these, but it's definately been awhile. It's hot here in SA! Mid April and Mid 80s. Work is going to be no fun this summer. We have three people retiring, one seperating, three deploying, and four leaving the station. We're gonna be needing bodies fast, because summer is our busiest time.
Dara is about 24 weeks now and Baby boy Bender is a mover and shaker. I think he's gonna be a soccer player or something. Brianna is potty trained and has been for about two weeks now i think with only two accidents. Dara is holding up even though her LA Weight Loss job is becoming a pain and too much for her pregnant body to handle but she has something else waiting in the wings that hopefully will help. We're both anxious to get onto base and have her home to save money (she'll be working from home too) Anyway I promise to update this more often.

Good Friday

So I've been back at work a week and ready for some more days off. I walk in on Tuesday, fifteen minutesw later I'm thrown into the edit room. Is it sad to be counting down the months starting at 32 months left? In one way going back to Tulsa was a bad idea cause I realize how much i miss it. But with this time left in the AF will get me a Master's, us out of a majority of debt and Dara started on her business as an Arbonne consultant movin on up to Regional Rep. It's a health/beauty company that relies on person to person relations for sales. It's very homeopathic and all natural. Scary what some of the things we people put on our faces and skin in the name of beauty all for Mary Kay, Clarion etc. I'm using an all natural men's shaving gel and it works so well and my neck bumps are going away too, just after one weeks use. So anyway, Baby Boy is growing big in Dara, she's 21 weeks today, just over the half way mark. Some of you friends may know the name but we're trying to keep it secret from family just cause. Oh yeah and it's 82 here today...hot in SA. Ummm, so long for now.

On vacation

So here we are in Tulsa. A lot cooler than San Antonio. Not too much has changed in the year and a half we have been gone. A few more Starbucks have popped up (About time Tulsa jumped on that bandwagon), some more shopping areas, and more housing developments. Of course I have no idea where the jobs to support the home market are. Our friends here say everyone is in debt to live the life of luxury here. Anyway, we both realizes how much we miss it and can't wait for the next 32 months to fly by. In that time however I am going to get my Master's compliments of the Air Force, our baby boy will be born and Dara is stating up her independent consultant business with a company called Arbonne. (Ask about it and we'll sell it to you...trust me it's worth it. Some of our friends who are skeptical are interested.) So anyway in other news, I passed my 5 level test with an 86, but i would much rather have had a 90 (86 seems so average to me). Well only a few more days to enjoy home before we head back to SA and the AF.

Tulsa or Bust

Two more days and a well deserved vacation back to Tulsa! Dara and I have missed it soooooo much, and can't wait for me to be done serving the country and back home. Luckily vacation is at the same time the Base is having a huge excercise that would be long and a pain. Anyway, maybe longer post later.

Close Call!

I got called into the Chief's office earlier today at work (3/2/05) and was told I was being pulled for Third-World Country Nationalist Duty, TCN for short. It's basically a babysitting job in a foreign nation that they give us Airmen so we can get some deployments and experience under our belts. Well needless to say leaving for 120 days around mid March to early April didn't strike me as very good. I was more than likely going to miss my second child's birth. Not too mention Dara knows no one down here. So of course i'm a little upset. I felt like i had just gotten back with them and now being told i was leaving again. Well after telling Dara and both of us getting upset, Chief called saying another airman in my flight was willing to take my place. (Cheif obviuosly knew how upset i was, he saw me.) Yeah!
Or is it, cause now I'll have to be deployed AFTER the baby is born leaving Dara with two kids. Honestly people, think long and hard before joining the military, it's not for everyone (like me). There are days where i think i would have gladly taken up two jobs and a smaller apt in Tulsa than this. But there are other days where i really have a sense of Patriotism. So when four years is up I'll look back and said, "I made it."

Talk about Exhausted

Well last night we had a pretty big (well loud at least) Thunderstorm come through and for about an hour and a half I didn't sleep, nor did Brianna, or Dara. So being at work I'm physically exhausted, now I am mentally exhausted after overhauling this script we're gonna shoot regarding traffic in and around San Antonio. Trust me when I say this city has got some messed up drivers. So now I just want to go home and take a nap, but can't because I have to get dinner for Brianna and myself, throw in some laundry, do the dishes, and pick up the livingroom. Oh yeah and do our finances to make sure we can pay some people back. Plastic is bad!! Cars are blackholes!! Taxes suck!! And when you're in the hole you mine as well enjoy it, climbing out is an impossibility.
Well now that I'm done with that...I'm glad some of you are posting comments. Don't worry about my brother's comments, he's harmless...I think. My next post should be a good one with some pix of me and R. Lee Ermey- that Drill Sergeant guy from 'Full Metal Jacket' and History Channels 'Mail Call.' We have to shoot an Air Force PSA with him early sunday morning. I'm looking forward to it except for the being there at 5:30 am. Well ciao for now.

Do I really need a title here?

So here it is one day before I turn 27! I don't feel it nor do I think I look it, except for that grey streak in front. No big plans. Dara got me the 'Back to the Future' Trilogy on DVD- one of my all time favs (but she hates anthig 80s) I have Monday and Tuesday of next week off. Don't know what I'll do with all that time but as long as I'm not at work I don't mind. Here's a pic of my lil girl...and yes 100% attitude comes with that beautiful face.

Another Air Force Day...

Let me tell you a little something about the military...we're not a 'well oiled machine' like everyone may believe. In fact at times I feel we are more disorganized because of all our rules and regs. Anyway we had a recall this morning. Basically you get a call early in the morning telling you to get your butt to base as quick as you can. Well here's the thing, they usually do this after some of us are already on our way to base or there working out and we don't know about it. So when we do get to our 'shop' we're confused as to why we're getting people coming in with deployment bags and such. The some people weren't called until late, others took their time when they only live ten minutes away etc. The funny thing is I'm part of a communications squadron and our internal communication between our various flights (or sectors if you want to say that) is at times just plain horrible. Anyway a little less than 3 years left is all I'm saying.

On a side note for those of you who don't know my brother Dave, between him and I we could make up an entire crazy ward. Think Brad Pitt in Twelve Monkeys, sane but not really. I love him though he's good at making me laugh out loud. He's also my 'in' for Hollywood (wink wink bro) Well hoping more word gets out about my blog and more people read and make comments.

Valentine's was GOOOD!

So after being afflicted with the disease of not caring for pointless commercial holidays (ie: Valentine's, St Paddy's Day, etc) I finally impressed the wife with a very thoughtful Valentine's Day. First off I made her believe I still had to go into work (i actually took the day off), so I took our daughter to the sitter as per normal. From there on out I ran my errands and cleaned up the house. To keep things 'real' I put on my uniform and dropped off lunch at my wife's work. Back home I was preparing dessert. I made chocolate Cheescake from scratch thank you very much. No Easy Bake Jell-o recipe. Well to make a long story short, I had made a Chicken Caesar dinner (not a salad though), Honey-Almond Croisannts, and the cheesecake. I had the table all done up with roses, chocolates, and heart decor. When she walked in from her long day at work she was so impressed, I even dressed up nice. She started to cry because she said to her co-workers that she wasn't expecting anything from me since I am so bad at holidays and birthdays (hey when you don't have the money you can't do much and inspiration for me doesn't come cheap). So it was a good night So guys any problems with the ladies? Ask me I'll try and help you out.

And now the rest of the story...

So now day two... For most of you who don't know me, and those friends and family who do, I am prone to being a pessimistic realist. Basically I believe in Murphy and he tends to believe in me. Now what might you find on this blog of mine? Probably a few "whoopee" moments of my life like my two year daughter doing something amazing yet again; you may also find me rambling on about how backwards the government can be; another possible thing is me talking about movies and my screenplay I am trying to write (hard to do at the moment because after work I am too beat to think about it); I may even post a joke or two. Anyway as an experiement i think i will put down a few words or phrases that if people "google" these words this blog may pop up. Once again this is just an experiment so if you are confused by some of these words or terms just know i have heard or seen them hit various websites lately. Here goes:

"Planet X" or "Nibiru" (for those Sci-Fi fans and theorists as to what is effecting our weather)
"the coming of World War III" (everyone is thinking it's gonna be with Iran and/or N korea)
"Pentagon Plane" (what reaaally hit the Pentagon on 9/11? Even before all the sites popped up on 9/11 I thought it was strange that a 767 didn't do more damage)
"North Korea Nukes" (they have em)

Umm that's all for now, but don't freak out, this is just a way to see if people can find my blog from google, i could type in a lot more things regarding hollywood or something but we'll save that for another time. In the meantime i have to keep the world safe by sittin behind my desk at work here in Combat Camera. (That wasn't meant to be rude, my apologies.)

Later y'all (Texas has infected me)

Day One on this voyage

Okay, so now I have joined this Blog revolution. Why? Because I too have a voice that I would like heard. I have opinions, thoughts, and views on life, politics, entertainment andoverall trivalities. So off we go into the vast pale yonder.

So at first this blog will be boring until I get the hang of what I want to say and posting of pics and that sort of thing.

Now I need to figure out how to give you all my profile, of course most of my first readers will be friends and family.
